Install

Download the latest release for your platform from yourownai.net/download - macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows, and Linux (.deb / .rpm). Free, open source, no Flowsta identity required.

What your computer needs

• Mac with Apple Silicon: macOS 13.3 or later.
• Mac with an Intel processor: macOS 12 or later. Offline models run on the processor there, so smaller models suit it best.
• Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
• Linux: a 64-bit desktop (.deb or .rpm).

If your system is older than the AI engine supports, the app tells you on its start view and above the Offline Models list, before you download anything. Online models do not depend on your computer's hardware. They are an optional paid service; everything offline stays free.

A note for Windows users

Your Own AI is newly released, so Windows and your browser may show a couple of safety prompts before it runs. This is normal for new apps and clears up as more people install.

• Downloading in Edge: if it says "isn't commonly downloaded," click ⋯ → Keep → Show more → Keep anyway. (Chrome: just Keep.)
• Opening it: if you see "Windows protected your PC," click More info → Run anyway.

Verify your download

Every release ships a SHA256SUMS.txt alongside the installers, so you can confirm your download matches what we published. Only download Your Own AI from yourownai.net or our GitHub releases - never from a third-party mirror.

What the app needs

• Any modern machine works. The app detects your hardware and the model catalog shows what fits: green means fully on your graphics card and fast, yellow means partly on the processor and slower.
• GPU acceleration ships in the box: Vulkan on Linux and Windows, Metal on macOS. NVIDIA machines can add a one-click CUDA engine later.
• Disk space is mostly models: small ones from ~2 GB, larger ones more. You choose what to download.
