What is Your Own AI?
Your Own AI is a free desktop app that runs AI models privately on your machine. Your conversations, characters, and memories are stored on your device, written into signed records and encrypted with a key only you hold. With offline models, nothing you type ever leaves your computer.
Online frontier models are available as an option - a paid plan adds them - but they are never required, and everything local stays free.
The shape of the app
- Chat is the center. You talk to your AIs - characters you author, each with its own personality, portrait, memory, and knowledge.
- Models are what your AIs think with. Offline models run on your hardware; online models run through Flowsta's relay with your identity stripped. Routing picks the right one per question, by rules you can read.
- Projects turn a conversation into a workbench: open a folder and your AI reads files, makes edits, and runs commands - always with your permission.
- Your records are the memory of everything: every conversation is written into a tamper-evident record on your device, exportable as a file anyone can verify.

No account needed
The app works fully without an account. You only sign in with Flowsta if you want online models or automatic backups to your Flowsta Vault.
